From the New York Times:
“Artists are stubborn egomaniacs who are mysteriously – and sometimes correctly – certain that the world needs to know all about the figments of their imaginations and who gear their lives to getting those figments into circulation.”

Invader does with mosaics that few contemporary artists working in the medium of mosaic have dared to do. His take on technology on our culture is translated through what is considered an ancient and traditional medium (mosaic). The imagery references PacMan, a video games of the late 70‘s, using digital pixallations created in mosaic tile . He has also used the rubics cube, as a module or tesserae, to create a series of called “rubikscubism”. His work can be seen around the world – he is a “mosaic tagger” and has hit various locales with his tile graffitti.
His current exhibition is running in New York at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery until July 27th. See the links page for more info about Invader.
